Overview:

The Scribner-Snyder Trojans are hoping for success in 2015 after finishing last season strong.

Scribner-Snyder returns three starters in Savanah Miller (5’8”, OH Junior), Kaylee Boyle (5’8” OH Sophomore), and Mackenzie Schreck (5’7” MH Junior).

Those three are expected to start along with Nicole Boyle (5’8”-Setter-Sophomore).

The Trojans have to make up for the loss of Jerica Baumert, Megan Dostal, and Lindsey Wisnieski.

Helping the Scibner-Snyder cause could be newcomers MicKayla Mandel, Ronnie Litz, and Daria Risch.

The Trojans won't have a lot of height this year, which could hurt them, but Scribner-Snyder will be fast, which should help their defense dig balls and keep plays alive.

The Trojans need to improve on hitting accuracy and must eliminate errors.

Scribner-Snyder has to help their own cause by generating points on offense and not giving away easy, free points.

It will be important for the Trojans to work together as a team and remain positive throughout the season to be successful and dynamic.

I think Scribner-Snyder has a chance to be successful this year. The Trojans got hot at the end of last season, and even though Scribner-Snyder isn't the tallest team out there, I look for the momentum at the end of last year to carry over into this year.

The Trojans may struggle some early with breaking in some new starters, which is why it will be important for the returning players to help the newcomers along.

Teamwork is the foundation for success for Scribner-Snyder this season. The Trojans have to work together to be good.

I definitely think Scribner-Snyder has what it takes to turn the corner and have a winning record this year. If the Trojans can sustain the same level of play at the end of last season throughout this season, they should win quite a few matches.

It's all about being consistent. Scribner-Snyder has to play at a high level throughout the season if they want to win matches.

It will be interesting to see how successful the Trojans are this year.

Season Outlook:

The Scribner-Snyder Trojans hope to pick up where they left off from a year ago when they won seven out of their last ten matches.

Head Coach Shelly Schulenberg says it will be important for her squad to hit well. "If the girls can eliminate the hitting errors we should be able to compete with a lot of our teams but definitely not having any height is going to hurt."

Scribner-Snyder has tough matches against the likes of Howells-Dodge, Oakland-Craig, Guardian Angels Central Catholic, Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family, West Point-Beemer, Stanton, and Wisner-Pilger.

There are a lot of very winnable matches on the schedule for the Trojans, but the matches listed above are no doubt the toughest.

Scribner-Snyder has an uphill battle against those teams, but if they can take care of business against the teams they're supposed to beat and win a good chunk of the toss up matches, they could go on to have a fine season.

It will be important for the newcomers to develop quickly, and for the returning players to step up and lead by example, but if these things happen, look for the Trojans to win a good number of matches.

Scribner-Snyder will no doubt struggle against teams with height, but the Trojans should be successful against teams that lack height and speed, or just speed. 

Teams with height and speed may very well be the toughest for Scribner-Snyder, but the Trojans just have to battle through it.

Scribner-Snyder is a fairly young team, but look for the Trojans to get better as the season progresses, and be a factor come sub district time.

There may be some growing pains early in the season, but once the newcomers get things figured out and mesh with the returning players, look out. Scribner-Snyder could very well get hot and take off from that point.
