North Bend Central goes 1-1 in Sub-Districts
The North Bend Central Volleyball team won 3-0 over Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Monday night in the C1-6 Sub-District Tournament at Oakland-Craig before losing 3-2 to West Point-Beemer in the Sub-District Final Tuesday night.
The Tigers won set one over the Raiders 25-22, took set two 25-21, and set three 25-14.
North Bend Central defeated West Point-Beemer 25-22 in set one before losing set two 26-24. The Tigers won set three 25-22 before dropping set four 25-18 and set five 15-12.
Great effort by North Bend Central in Sub-Districts. The Tigers came very close to advancing to their third straight Sub-State match.
North Bend Central's season ends at 14-15.
The Tigers picked up some good wins this year, including victories over Wakefield-Allen, Oakland-Craig (twice), Wisner-Pilger, Twin River, BRLD, Howells-Dodge, Logan View/Scribner-Snyder (twice), and Shelby/Rising City.
I'm not sure who all North Bend Central loses to graduation, but I do know that Lauren Emanuel returns next year.
It was definitely a rebuilding year for the Tigers, but I feel North Bend Central has what it takes to get back to the top next year.
These girls have to work as hard as possible on the game between now and July, and gear up for next season.
The Tigers should be proud of what they accomplished this year, but be hungry and anxious and ready to go for next year.
North Bend Central has to have a good Basketball season and track season, but play as much Volleyball as possible too.
The Tigers were young this year, but they'll be more experienced and veteran laden next year, and that should only help them.
North Bend Central has to take part in as many open gyms, summer leagues, summer camps, and weightlifting and agility drill sessions as possible.
The Tigers have to be focused and give maximum effort in all that they do over the course of the offseason.
North Bend Central has to maximize their potential and push themselves as far as they can go.
There's a lot out there for the Tigers to accomplish, and North Bend Central has to go out there and get the job done.
The Tigers also need to take some time off and enjoy their lives, but be ready to get back at it when it's time.
Proper rest is key, and staying active with a job or other extra curricular activities is big as well.
North Bend Central has to use the loss to the Cadets to end the season as fuel and motivation heading into next year.
